The publication begins with review tables showing, among others, the most important data on the voivodship compared to the countrywide data and in retrospection for the years 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2014-2018. Detailed statistical data are grouped in 22 thematic chapters, preceded by general comments containing explanations regarding terminology, methodology and scope of information. Selected phenomena are illustrated on maps and graphs.

In the present edition of the Yearbook, I would like to draw your attention to the methodological changes introduced and the scope of the presented data. Thematic sections called "Municipal infrastructure. Dwellings" and "Household budgets", known from previous editions of the yearbooks, have been merged into one section "Households. Dwellings". In addition, tables concerning municipal and liquid waste and green areas of housing estates, were moved from the section "Municipal Infrastructure. Dwellings" to the "Environmental protection" section.
