The publication begins with review tables showing, among others, the most important data compared to the country and in retrospection for the years 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2013-2017. Detailed statistical data are grouped in 23 thematic chapters, preceded by general comments containing explanations regarding terminology, methodology and scope of information. Selected phenomena are illustrated on maps and graphs.

In the present edition of the Yearbook, we would like to draw your attention to the methodological changes introduced in the section “Education”. In addition, for the first time, the chapter “Household budgets” presents the information regarding the subjective assessment of financial situation of households.

I would also like to recommend the latest edition of ‘Dolnośląskie Voivodship 2017 – Subregions, Powiats, Gminas’, which may be a supplement to the Yearbook in territorial division.
